Here are the details for Wednesday, October 3, 2018. What: Fall Preview Concert When: Wednesday, October 3rd Time: 7:00 pm Where: Carroll Senior High School Auditorium Choir Attire: Formal Choir Uniform Who: REQUIRED of ALL Choir Members Women's Uniform *Black Concert Dress Nude Panty Hose Black Flats (Dress Shoes) Hair - Half up, half down No nail polish No jewelry Wear make-up with a red lipstick Men's Uniform *Tuxedo Jacket and Shirt *Bow Tie Black Dress Slacks Black Dress Belt Black Dress Socks Black Dress Shoes Returning students, please wear your black choir t-shirt to school Wednesday, October 3rd! (T-shirts will be disseminated to new choir members by the end of October.) Call Times are staggered, please arrive on time and fully dressed in your concert attire! TMEA Region 31 District Round Audition Information

We have some exciting news about our London 2019 Choir Trip March 8 – March 17, 2019. We are able to open the enrollment for this trip to accommodate several more students! Any student in the Choral Department is eligible to travel with us this spring! Trip packet which includes a tentative itinerary, UK Sign up waiver and UK Payment waiver are located here: http://www.dragonchoirs.net/london-2019.html While the trip is currently “sold-out” we have the opportunity to fill another motor coach with approximately 40 more students and chaperones. We are opening a “waitlist” in hopes that we are able to add enough travelers to add them all to our trip. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity… please follow these steps no later than Thursday, September 13. Your student will be “wait-listed” for the trip and by September 20th we should know if the students on the wait-list can be added to the trip. To be placed on the wait list you must follow these 5 steps. 1. (UK Sign up waiver, UK Payment letter located here: http://www.dragonchoirs.net/london-2019.html ) 2. – Must be valid to travel in March of 2019. If your student does not have a valid passport you will need to send a copy in no later than December 15, 2018. 3. This is a different amount that listed on the contract because we a signing up and splitting payments over 4 months. (TRIPS MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY JANUARY 1, 2019) The trip total is still what is listed on the original paperwork… but the monthly payments will be higher to pay the trip off by the deadline. 4. VERY IMPORTANT – ALL FALL REGISTRANTS WILL BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST. 1.IF, BY SEPTEMBER 13, WE ARE ABLE TO MEET THE 40 PERSON REQUIREMENT THEN MR. DOUCET WILL MAIL IN THE ADDITIONAL DEPOSITS AND THE REGISTRATION WILL BE APPROVED. 2.IF THE TRIP DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH STUDENTS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS ABLE TO TRAVEL THEN THE DEPOSIT CHECKS WILL BE RETURNED UNCASHED TO STUDNTS ON THE WAIT LIST. Choir uniforms were checked out to the Lock In last Friday evening. Students are responsible for the maintenance of that uniform throughout the rental period. At the conclusion of each school year, students will return cleaned uniforms to be inventoried for the next year. If a uniform is lost or permanently damaged, students will be expected to cover the cost of a replacement. At the end of the year, if a student has not turned in their uniform or paid for a replacement, their grade will be held as incomplete. Rented items should NOT be permanently altered. Please do not cut any material on rented uniforms. Women’s Uniforms *Black Concert Dress (If the dress needs hemming, please do not cut the dress. Hem should be 1 to 2 inches off the ground with shoes.) Black Flats (Dress Shoes) Hair out of the face Neutral nail polish No pants under dress No jewelry Men’s Uniforms *Tuxedo Jacket and Shirt *Bow Tie Black Dress Slacks (No chino pants. Black dress pants that match closely to tuxedo jacket.) Here is a WONDERFUL optional opportunity for our students! The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) has a National Honor Choir that performs during its biannual conference. This year ACDA will be held in Kansas City, MO, February 27th – March 2nd. Last year we had four students participated in the Southwestern Division of ACDA in Oklahoma City. In 2017, we had two students who performed with the internationally acclaimed conductor/composer, Eric Whitacre at National ACDA in Minneapolis, MN! This Honor Choir is a wonderful way to continue develop your child’s audition skills and increase their musical ability. It was so wonderful to meet many of you last evening at our Choir Family End of Summer Picnic!! I would like to send a special thanks to the Hicks’ Family for being such gracious hosts and to our Fabulous Choir Booster Board for organizing such a special event! Carroll Choir Family is an amazing team!! Parents, we have scheduled a Mandatory Choir Parent Meeting for Tuesday, August 21st in the Choir Room at Carroll Senior High School from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Everything you need to know about Carroll Choir will be discussed and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have! We look forward to seeing at least ONE representative from each choir member at the meeting! Our second major event of the school year is our Inaugural Choir Lock In!! This choir lock in is Friday, August 24th from 6:00 pm until 11:00 pm at Carroll Senior High School. Students will participate in team building activities, learn some of the choreography for our Pop Show, learn the Star Spangled Banner and much more!!!! Dinner will be provided! First off, thank you so much for your commitment and dedication to the Carroll Choral Department! You are appreciated more than you know! Last Walk Across the Stage At the end of our Spring Concert, Seniors will take their final walk across the Carroll stage. You will be called in alphabetical order and highlights from your bio will be read. Please tell your parents to stand when your name is called and to remain standing while you walk across the stage. Parents may be seated as soon as the next student’s name is called. We will practice this section of the concert in Chorale on the 16th. Students not in Chorale, your colleagues will fill you in as to what to do! J _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Baccalaureate Rehearsal Schedule (Please have Thankful, Alma Mater and The Lord Bless You and Keep You prepared for rehearsal.) Rehearsals will be held during lunch on B-days. May 10 May 16 May 18 (Depends on how prepared you are. This could be an optional rehearsal based on how well the 16th goes.)
